  Hi everyone, I just finished planning a family reunion for 15 people to Manali, and I wanted to share a cost-saving tip I found.

  Initially, we were looking at 3 Innovas, but the logistics (and the cost) were a headache. We eventually decided to look for a Tempo Traveller on Rent instead.

  Here’s what we saved:

  • Fuel/Tolls: Only paying for one vehicle instead of three.

  • Coordination: No "waiting for the other car" at toll booths.

  • Vibe: Everyone stayed together, played music, and the kids had a blast.

  If you’re looking, I’d suggest checking for 12, 16, or 26-seater variants depending on your group. I found a great deal via India Tour Taxi-they were quite transparent about the per-km rates and driver allowance.

  Has anyone else made the switch from multiple cars to a single traveller? Would love to hear your experience with interstate permits!

  Hi fellow travelers,

  I’m planning a group trip for 13 people from Delhi to Manali next month. In the past, we've always used the standard 12-seater Tempo Travellers, but I've been hearing a lot about the Force Urbania on rent recently.

  From what I’ve researched, it seems to have much better safety features (like ESP and ABS) and better AC flow for the rear seats, which is a big deal for mountain travel. However, I want to make sure the "Luxury" tag isn't just marketing.

  Has anyone here actually booked a Force Urbania on rent for a long-distance trip?

  Here is what I'm specifically looking for:

  • Ride Quality: Is the independent suspension actually better on bumpy roads?

  • Luggage: Does the 13-seater version have enough boot space for 13 suitcases?

  • Price: I found this rate chart for Force Urbania on rent does ₹32/km sound like the current market standard in 2026?

  Any feedback from someone who has recently used it would be a lifesaver!

  Planning a group trip is 10% picking the destination and 90% figuring out how to move everyone without losing your mind. If you’re looking at a Tempo Traveller on Rent, I’ve learned a few things the hard way that might save you some cash and a lot of backaches:

  1. Check the Configuration: Not all 12-seaters are equal. Ask for the "1x1 Maharaja" seating if you want luxury, or the "2x1" for standard.

  2. The AC Test: In 2026, most travellers have roof-mounted AC. Always ask if it has a "separate compressor" for the rear cabin if not, the back seats will be an oven in the summer.

  3. The Kilometer Trap: Some operators offer a low base rate but charge "Driver Bhatta" and "Garage-to-Garage" kilometers. Ensure your quote for a Tempo Traveller on Rent includes all inclusive pricing (Tolls, State Taxes, Driver).

  4. Safety: Check the tires. It sounds basic, but on long highway hauls, worn out tires on a heavy vehicle are a huge risk.

  My Verdict: For any group larger than 8, it beats 2 Innovas any day. You save roughly 30% on fuel and tolls alone.

  Yes, tempo traveller is safe for winter Manali trips, but with important considerations. The vehicle has advanced safety features including Hill Assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS, and strong grip tires. However, for December-January when Rohtang Pass is closed and Manali receives heavy snowfall, we recommend: 

  (1) Booking only if you're experienced with hill travel or traveling with our experienced drivers who know winter mountain driving, 

  (2) Carrying snow chains (we provide on request for ₹1,000), 

  (3) Avoiding travel during active snowfall days, 

  (4) Checking weather forecasts 48 hours before departure. 

  Most families successfully complete winter Manali trips in Tempo Traveller- the powerful engine handles icy slopes well, and triple AC doubles as a heater. For peak snow months, consider Shimla instead (safer road conditions) or wait until Mid February when conditions improve.
