CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Todd Frazier wasnt going to let left-hander Francisco Liriano get another fastball by him. Todd Gurley II Jersey . He guessed right and hit one a long way. Frazier and Zack Cozart hit upper-deck homers off Liriano, and the Cincinnati Reds moved a season-high 15 games over .500 by beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1 on Monday night. The Reds (43-28) hit four solo homers in all, extending their best start since 1995, the last time they won a playoff series. The win also kept Cincinnati in second place in the NL Central, a game and a half ahead of the Pirates. Cozart connected on a hanging slider in the fourth and Frazier hit a down-the-middle fastball in the sixth off Liriano (5-3), who hadnt allowed a homer in his seven previous starts. He opened the season on the disabled list, recovering from a broken right arm last December. During a game in Pittsburgh this season, Liriano tied up Frazier with a fastball. He had that in mind when he came to bat and got one on the first pitch. "That one felt pretty good," Frazier said. "He tried to get one past in Pittsburgh and I got enough of it to get a single. I was looking for it, and got my (front) foot down sooner and got some good wood on it." Joey Votto and Jay Bruce connected in the eighth inning off Bryan Morris. Bruce has three homers during a five-game hitting streak. Mike Leake (7-3) extended the best stretch of his four-year career, giving up six hits -- including Russell Martins RBI double -- in seven innings. Leake got 13 outs off ground balls and fanned three. "Hes pitching with confidence and pitching a little harder," manager Dusty Baker said. "He just goes about his business with no fanfare. Theres no difference in his personality." The right-hander is 5-1 in his last seven starts with a 1.15 earned run average, showing why the Reds made him their first-round pick in the June 2009 draft. "Hes been doing this for three months now and building up to this," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. "Thats a guy that can pitch. Thats what hes evolved into. He pitched as well as Ive ever seen him." With seven wins, Leake is only five shy of his career high from the 2011 season. He went right to the majors after the Reds drafted him out of Arizona State, going 8-4 as a rookie. "Im a little bit more motivated," Leake said. "I think my heads back in college, pitching-wise, and Im thinking a little better." Tony Cingrani made his first relief appearance this season and pitched out of a two-on threat in the eighth, fanning Pedro Alvarez to keep the score 2-1. Cingrani joined the rotation when Johnny Cueto went on the disabled list, and the Reds kept him around with Cueto back so theyd have another left-hander in their depleted bullpen. Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth for his 18th save in 20 chances, walking one and fanning two. The Ohio River rivals have occupied the second and third spots in the NL Central most of the season, staying right behind the torrid Cardinals. The Pirates have gone 4-2 against the Reds at PNC Park, where theyve won 25 games overall, tied with Cincinnati for most home wins in the majors. Its their first visit of the season to Cincinnati. The Pirates went only 3-6 at Great American Ball Park last season, unable to take advantage of its hitter-friendly dimensions. Liriano gave up Cozarts seventh homer in the fourth inning, extending the shortstops hitting streak to seven games. Frazier hit his ninth homer in the sixth inning for a 2-1 lead, a drive that also landed in the upper deck in left field and was estimated at 443 feet. Several nice defensive plays also helped to keep it close. Starling Marte made a diving, backhand catch of Brandon Phillips slicing line drive to left field in the third inning, forcing the Reds to strand a runner at second base. Cozart turned a couple of tough-hop grounders into outs, preventing the Pirates from threatening in the early innings. NOTES: Marte was back in the lineup batting leadoff. He was out of the lineup the last four games with a strained left oblique. ... RH A.J. Burnett, who went on the 15-day DL last Thursday with a strained right calf, wont do much for the next three days. ... LH Wandy Rodriguez, on the DL with a sore left forearm, threw in the bullpen on Monday. Hes eligible to be activated on Friday. ... Reds OF Chris Heisey started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville. Hes been on the DL since April 29 with an injured right hamstring. ... NASCAR drivers Bobby Labonte and Kevin Harvick threw ceremonial pitches. Hits king Pete Rose watched the game from behind home plate. He attends several games a season in his hometown. Ethan Westbrooks Jersey . -- Charline Labonte couldnt have asked for a better homecoming. Lamarcus Joyner Jersey . Bryzgalov stopped 25 shots on Saturday in the Oklahoma City Barons 4-1 victory over the Abbotsford Heat. The Oilers signed Bryzgalov to a one-year $2 million contract last Friday after shedding payroll by dealing defenceman Ladislav Smid to the Flames. http://www.cheapramsjerseyselite.com/?tag=cheap-robert-woods-jersey .C. Lions has come to an end. Banks told TSN on Jan 2 that he had no interest in playing out the option year of his contract with the Lions in 2014, and he again made that clear in a conversation with Lions GM Wally Buono last week. PHOENIX -- With their victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the San Diego Padres are close to pulling out of the cellar in the NL West.Derek Norris drove in three runs with a home run and a double before leaving with an injury and the Padres handed the Diamondbacks yet another home loss 8-4 on Monday night. The Padres Yangervis Solarte added a two-run homer and Luis Perdomo (3-3) pitched six solid innings to get the victory. The 23-year-old right-hander, in his sixth start, allowed three runs on nine hits, striking out five with no walks. He pitched to one batter in the seventh.Manager Andy Green said the only time Perdomo got into trouble was when he abandoned his sinker. If we can get him to throw a sinker 95 percent of the time, hes not going to get hit, Green said, (but) he starts to believe hes got to pitch like everybody else, that hes got to flip sliders in to punch guys out and doesn.tNorris, the teams catcher, left in the eighth inning when he was struck in the arm by a bat on the follow-through by hitter Brandon Drury.I think hes going to be fine, Green said. Hes going to get an X-ray to check just to make sure that everythings good. It caught him on that nerve, the funnybone. He just couldnt get feeling back.Norris two-run homer off Archie Bradley (3-4) in the sixth put the Padres up for good. Bradley, starting in place of injured Zack Greinke, went six innings, giving up five runs on six hits as Arizona fell to 14-31 at home, second-worst in the National League. We are just not playing winning baseball right now, Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said. That is what it boils down to. `Solarte homered for the third time at Chase Field this season. The balls go out here, he said. Its not necessarily my focus. Im just trying to make good contact. I know I can hit balls out, but thats not what Im trying to do. Im trying to square balls up and thankfully the balls have been going out.Jake Lamb had an RBI triple and PPaul Goldschmidt a run-scoring double for the Diamondbacks, who fell into a virtual tie with the Padres for last place in the NL West. Nickell Robey-Coleman Jersey. Norris, 1-for-13 in San Diegos just-completed home stand, got the green light on a 3-0 pitch and sent it into the left field seats, a two-run homer with two outs in the sixth that gave the Padres their first lead, 5-3. Norris and Ryan Schimpf, batting .132 entering the game, added RBI doubles off reliever Daniel Hudson in San Diegos three-run eighth.Arizona went ahead 3-2 when Lamb poked the ball down the right field line for an RBI triple. The lead didnt last long. Bradley walked Wil Myers to start the sixth, Matt Kemp doubled to deep left-center and it was 3-3 to set up Norris home run.Arizona took a 2-0 lead in the first. One run scored on Goldschmidts double, the other on a throwing error by the third baseman Solarte. He made up for it in the fourth, following Kemps single with a home run into the right field seats to tie it at 2-2.EXPERIMENT OVERThe Peter OBrien experiment is over, at least for now. The team optioned him back to Triple-A Reno on Monday. The big outfielder was tearing up the Pacific Coast League -- batting .356 with 17 homers and 52 RBI. But major league pitching often baffled him, especially the off-speed stuff.OBrien appeared in 21 games with the Diamondbacks, batting .123 with four homers but 25 strikeouts in 60 plate appearances. OBrien struck out with the tying run on third to end Sundays 5-4, 11-inning loss to San Francisco.Shortstop Nick Ahmed was activated from the paternity list and took OBriens roster spot.UP NEXTPadres: Lefty Christian Friedrich (4-3, 3.96 ERA) makes his 10th start of the season.Diamondbacks: RHP Zack Godley (1-0, 4.35) will be called up from Triple-A Reno again to make his second start of the season Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaNFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
